Tropical Cyclone Kong-Rey Not an April Fools !!!

Well I haven't even been in Guam for a month yet, and I am getting to experience my first Typhoon, currently it is still a Tropical Cyclone but it is expected to be upgraded in the morning. On the lighter side, I thought that only people in the S.E. US flocked to the grocery store when tropical systems approach. But I made the mistake of going to the market this afternoon and it was a mad house. People had their carts loaded to the brim with food/water. I just got some canned goods, figuring that we might lose power and my things would go bad. I went to the video/water store (private water companies are huge here because the utilities can't always be trusted) and they had sold out of 5 gallon jugs. But Wayne (manager) knew me and knew I haven't had a chance to buy a jug yet so he sold me a used one and only charged me $12 (thanks Wayne!) I glad because on the news tonight the utility company said that the water would be turned off tomorrow afternoon, and that we should have enough water stored for 2 -3 days. The storm is scheduled to pass over us tomorrow night. Which will put off me and Michelle's plans for a camping expedition to the island of Rota this coming weekend. So we will hold off a week so the water will calm back down, so the snorkling/SCUBA will be great.
I will give an update after the storm passes and we get power back!!
Till then,
Ryan
